Feathers filled the small room. Our laughter kept the feathers in the air. I thought about birds. Could they fly if there wasn’t someone, somewhere, laughing?

Then take me disappearin’ through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow
As I walk out my door, step into the pollution.
I breathe in the problems, exhale solutions
Because, after all, life is about balance.

Be my baby
I’ll hold your soul
I’ll rock you slow
I’ll be there when you need me
… you’re never that far.
Despite having considered myself a monster for as long as I can remember,

No organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream.
